Journey

As the last student of the ceramic team in 2007, I graduated from the line of ceramic art and design at The Danish School of Design in Kolding. Furthermore, I have completed multiple courses in Metal - and Silverworks during the 2010s. Since 2007 I have worked from my studio situated in Kolding, Denmark. For the last 13 years, I have worked mainly with Ceramic Art Jewellery in clay and silver. In 2020 I began a new ceramic journey by making sculptural objects. With my passion for the process and exploring the ceramic raw materials, I felt a huge desire to start working with the aesthetic that is so important for my art jewellery on a different level - bringing sensitivity into the way of thinking and working together with clay. It ended up being an intimate experience with a greater room for nuances.

Clay is my passion

My narrative begins with an inner vision, a reflection, a state of mind. Emotions are expressed in different contexts, my works are anchored in the intimacy of the beauty of imperfection. The engagement of the nature of the materials and the man-made is central to all my works. In this lies an authenticity both tactically and visually to be found nowhere else than in ceramics. Aesthetics filled with character and love for the beauty of clay.

It is in the exploring and the process that new combinations of the raw materials reveal themselves. And it is my task and award to master and interpret these discoveries into ceramic works. The greatest challenge is always to seek the optimal. You must constantly evolve and can never relax, but it´s also a blessing. Creating an evolving process is always a challenge - you can never rest until you get it going, but when you finally get that feeling...it is very rewarding for your soul.
